Product certification
We believe that there are opportunities to encourage cooperation between businesses and NGOs to improve environmental programs at industrial facilities and/or certify important attributes for safer or environmentally preferred products. For example, we have initiated and helped launch the world’s first certification program for paints without added lead. The LEAD SAFE PAINT® certification is intended to encourage voluntary efforts on the part of the paint industry to reformulate their products. Independent third-party certification also assists governments to monitor paint industry compliance in countries which have adopted legal limits for lead in paint.
